Recommendations and Procedures: Opening 2021

Bowling Green Independent Schools intend to provide all students in-person school five days per week for the upcoming year, which begins August 5, 2021. School officials will continue to monitor both the level of community transmission of COVID-19, as well as vaccination coverage, and will adapt operations and requirements as necessary.

  • Currently, 39.7% of Warren County residents are vaccinated, 48.2% of those 18 and over.

  • Warren County has a COVID incidence rate, or daily cases per 100K population of 30.7 (July 30, 2021).

BGISD Increases Hourly Rate for School Day Bus Drivers

Beginning in August 2021, the Bowling Green Independent School District will pay full-time bus drivers up to $25 per hour for school day routes, a minimum of four hours per school day. Superintendent Fields recommended the rate change to help recruit and retain the best drivers to safely transport students to and from school each day. The Board of Education voted to increase the rate on Monday, June 14, 2021.

Now Accepting Nominations for the BGHS Hall of Honor

The Bowling Green High School Hall of Honor was established in 1992 to recognize outstanding character, achievements, and contributions of BGHS graduates. Honorees demonstrate the district motto of “Excellence Is Worth The Effort” in their professional careers, civic endeavors, and personal relationships.

The tradition continues in 2021 as Bowling Green High School plans to recognize up to four honorees with a day-long celebration in conjunction with BGHS Homecoming- the first in the new BGHS Football Stadium.
