The Bowling Green Independent Board of Education has approved changes to elementary school boundaries that will impact Dishman McGinnis and Parker-Bennett-Curry Elementary Schools beginning with the 2019-2020 school year. Addresses in the current Dishman McGinnis district that are north of Glen Lily Road will move to Parker-Bennett-Curry.
Both Dishman McGinnis and Parker-Bennett-Curry were built for 500 students or less. Dishman McGinnis currently has approximately 500 students and new construction in the area will soon overcrowd the school. Parker-Bennett-Curry currently has approximately 310 students.
The approved changes will go into effect for the 2019-2020 school year. All district services available to students at Dishman McGinnis Elementary are also available at Parker-Bennett-Curry including bus transportation, academic programs, art, music, P.E., school counselors, English Language supports, special education, food service, and a Family Resource Center.
