School closures due to the COVID-19 led to the loss of free and reduced-price school meals for many children. Families can now receive help from a program offered by the Cabinet for Health and Family Services and Kentucky Department of Education. All students of Bowling Green City Schools are eligible for the Pandemic Electronic Benefit Transfer (P-EBT), a program that provides a benefits card to be used to buy food. The P-EBT is a one-time benefit with eligible households to receive up to $313.50 per eligible student. Program enrollment is automatic for children receiving SNAP, TANF, Kinship Care and Medicaid. Households with children not enrolled in assistance programs must apply for P-EBT benefits at benefind.ky.gov by August 31, 2020. The student's state ID is required for the application. It may be found by logging in to either the Infinite Campus Parent or Campus Student Portal (the Student Portal username IS the SSID).
