Hello! My name is Pauletha Butts, and I look forward to this school year as I continue my journey as a Special Education teacher. I will be teaching reading, math, and writing to a group of 4th and 5th grade students. I will also be co-teaching and collaborating with general education teachers. Teaching has always been my passion and I am blessed to have the opportunity to teach at Dishman-McGinnis. I have worked as a Special Education Teacher for three years and a Special Education Instructional assistant for four years and it has brought me joy and happiness. My students are my inspiration, and I strive to ensure that they are given the necessary skills and supports to achieve their academic goals. Former first lady, Bird Johnson said it best, “Children are likely to live up to what you believe of them.” Thus, it has always been my philosophy to challenge my students to their fullest potential to prepare them for their future endeavors.
Moreover, in my spare time, I enjoy running and spending time with family and friends. I also enjoy watching football and basketball games. I am a proud Purple, a Hilltopper, and a Cardinal.
