My name is Sarah and I am married to Todd Wilder. I have three adorable and very energetic little boys: Deklan, Keegan, and Lochlan.
I love to read during my spare time and I also love reading with my sons. I also love traveling to various places, especially historical sites around the United States.
I feel so fortunate to be able to teach 5th grade social studies to all three 5th grade classes at W.R. McNeill Elementary. I find U.S. history fascinating and am absolutely thrilled that I have an opportunity to instill my passion for it in our next generation of learners. I also teach spelling, reading, and language arts to my homeroom students.
My goal as a teacher to provide the most nurturing environment possible while challenging each student to be the smartest 5th grader in the world!
I have taught at the 5th grade level for 13 years. I taught in Oldham County for three years prior to beginning my career at McNeill. I graduated from the University of Louisville with a Master of Arts in Teaching degree in 2002. After a challenging year long journey, I earned my Middle Childhood Generalist certification from the National Board for Professional Teaching Standards (www.nbpts.org) in 2008. In 2010, I was extremely honored to be named the 2011 Kentucky Elementary Teacher of the Year. It was very exciting to receive this award and I feel blessed beyond measure to have a career in which I am able to do what I love each day.
