My name is Wendy Sizemore. I started out my professional career in business. It was at the University of Akron in Ohio that I earned a Bachelor’s of Science Degree, with a double major – Human Resource Management and Marketing Communications. After a number of years working in both profit and non-profit agencies, I decided to make a career change. Through Ursuline College and University School’s Teacher Apprentice Program (TAP), I earned a Master’s Degree in Education.
I began my teaching career in Ohio where I taught first grade and second grade. Later, I relocated to Kentucky and have since had the awesome opportunity of educating a very diverse group of students. I developed a fascination with educating such a diverse population so much that it motivated me to attend Murray State University and earn an English as a Second Language Endorsement. This certification opens the door for me to teach language learners from kindergarten through 12 grade.
Currently, I am an ESL teacher at Parker-Bennett-Curry Elementary School. I teach English Language Learners from kindergarten through third grade. As an ESL teacher, I am able to watch my students become proficient in listening, speaking, reading, and writing English, excel in their core content classes, and blossom in their social skills. I love my job!
