Run Club

run club

We are proud to say that we will be kicking off the second year of the PBC Run Club.

Who's idea was this?

The idea of a Run Club at PBC was brought to our attention towards the end of the 2016-2017 school year. Cort Basham, BgKIDS 26.2 Event Coordinator, has successfully implemented run clubs at other elementary schools within the district. Coach Cort describe starting a run club at PBC as a 'dream.'

What is Run Club?

Run club, like any after school activity, is an opportunity for our students to experience something different. During run club, students learn about the purpose of running, the different types of running, and how to maintain a balanced diet when living an active lifestyle.

Who can participate?

Students looking to participate should be those interested and dedicated to becoming a stronger runner. Students who participate will be seen as role models during school and after school. At no point will bullying be tolerated during this after school opportunity. Students who become active participants in the run club may also be afforded the opportunity to participate in local competitions. It is Coach Cort's goal for fifth grade students to transfer their interests from elementary school to junior high.
