During the winter months, school officials keep a close watch on the weather. If the decision is made to delay or close school, our district will make every effort to notify parents, guardians, employees and the community as soon as possible. With few exceptions, the decision to delay or close school is made by 5:45 a.m., before buses begin morning routes.
As soon as a decision is made, One Call Now will send a text to parents and employees. Information will also be posted on the district website, Twitter (@BGISD) and Facebook accounts. The district will not make early morning phone calls to every household. The following media are also contacted during inclement weather:
WNKY NBC 40
WTVF Nashville Ch 5
WKCT 930 am
WKYU 88.9 fm
WCVK 90.7 fm
WDNS 93.3 fm

In rare instances school may be dismissed during the school day to avoid afternoon weather conditions. If this occurs, a One Call Now Emergency Message will be sent in an effort to contact parents as soon as possible. The Emergency Message will call all phone numbers, send messages to all email addresses, and text messages will be sent to text subscribers.
School days missed due to inclement weather will be made up.
The 2018- 2019 calendar lists February 15, 18, March 6, 7, 8, and days following May 23rd as possible make-up days. If necessary, others may be added to the end of the school year. Please consider the possibility of make-up days as you make vacation and/or graduation plans.
One Call Now also has a mobile app to receive messages: My Call Now, available for most iOS and Android devices. Download it today!
