The BGISD Preschool Program helps children develop to their fullest capacity by providing quality early childhood educational experiences which promote the individual child’s physical, emotional, social and intellectual growth and well-being.
BGISD Preschool students will attend two days per week from 8:30 a.m. - 2:30 p.m.
Sessions will be held on Mondays and Thursdays, and Tuesdays and Fridays with Wednesdays will include meetings with families, curriculum alignment with the district’s Kindergarten, and ARC meetings for special education services.
BGISD will offer ten preschool sessions with five classrooms located at T. C. Cherry Elementary.
Kentucky's preschool education programs are available for all children who are four years old on August 1, whose family income is no more than 160% of poverty, and all three and four year old children with developmental delays and disabilities, regardless of income.
NEW in 2021-2022: BGISD will offer tuition-based preschool for up to 50 students. Children must be 4 years old by August 1 of the current school year and not meet criteria for state funded preschool. Tuition will be $200 per month.
