Beyond the Call: Brian Hudson

As we conclude National School Bus Safety Week, we recognize Brian Hudson, Route 1 Bus Driver for always going Beyond the Call for students.

Students at Parker-Bennett-Curry say Mr. Brian is the nicest and best bus driver ever! Students also enjoy that he plays music on the bus on Fridays.

Delvagus Jackson, Principal of Parker-Bennett-Curry says that Mr. Brian’s concern and efforts for the students go beyond picking them up and getting them home. Mr. Brian wants to make sure the needs of all students are met.

Mr. Jackson says, “Mr. Brian is always willing to pick up or drop off any student in our school. If he hears of children that have missed their route, for any reason, he will transport them. He will also wait with students to make sure they are delivered safely to the correct adults.

Mr. Brian regularly works with the PBC administration and teachers to communicate and share concerns about students, as well as understanding when students need additional positive reinforcement. He strives to make his day-to-day bus procedures consistent with those of the teachers and the school.

Beyond being a positive face for the students, Mr. Brian is always a pleasant and interacts with the teachers. PBC Teacher, Ms. Kendra Lowe shared, “He asks about our days, jokes with us, and always waves to us. I have had his bus route as my bus duty every year since I began teaching and while some days are long, I always leave smiling after my interactions with Mr. Brian!”

Congratulations, Mr. Brian, recipient of a BGISD Beyond the Call award!
