ACT, Inc. has released scores from the Bowling Green High School Class of 2018 state assessment. As juniors, the 255 students scored an average composite score of 21.3, the highest for BGHS since all juniors began taking the exam in 2008. The students scores also surpassed state averages in all content areas.
ACT has developed College Readiness Benchmarks in English, mathematics, science and reading and 27% of BGHS juniors have met or surpassed these scores. A benchmark score is defined as the minimum score needed on an ACT subject-area test to indicate a 50% chance of obtaining a B or higher or about a 75% chance of obtaining a C or higher in the corresponding credit-bearing college courses. The national benchmark scores are:
18 or higher on the ACT English Test
22 or higher on the ACT Math Test
22 or higher on the ACT Reading Test
23 or higher on the ACT Science Test
