W.R. McNeill Elementary News

Login to IC Portal to Complete Online Registration Online Registration available now on IC Portal.

Parents and guardians of students in the Bowling Green Independent School District have the opportunity to complete most “back-to-school” paperwork online. Online registration is provided through Infinite Campus Parent Portal and eliminates the need for paper forms such as the annual enrollment form, school/district field trip permission, release agreements, etc.

5th Grade Parents: BGJHS SBDM Council Election

Bowling Green Junior High is currently seeking applicants for a SBDM parent representative. The SBDM Council is the governing body that encompasses aspects pertaining to all of the students at BGJHS. This term is for two years. If interested, please complete the nomination form (linked here) and return to melodymhaase@gmail.com no later than April 28, 2017. Elections will be held May 1-5, 2017 through a survey monkey to be located on the BGJHS PTSA Facebook Page and the PTSA Webpage. Paper ballots will also be available in the BGJHS front office.

Announcements of applicants will be on April 29 just prior to the election. The new representative will be announced on May 6, 2017.

Kindergarten & Preschool Pre-Registration

Parents and guardians planning to enroll their child/children in one of the Bowling Green elementary schools for kindergarten or preschool may pick up an enrollment packet at the schools during the week of April 24 - 28, 2017. Families wishing to take a tour of the school should schedule an appointment.

2017-18 Non-Resident Application Deadline: April 15, 2017

Families living in Bowling Green and Warren County but outside the boundaries of the Bowling Green City School District may apply for their children to attend BGISD as non-resident students. An agreement between Warren County Public Schools and Bowling Green City Schools allows state funding per child for up to 690 non-resident students to attend BGISD for the 2017-18 school year. History Comes to Life at Wax Museum McNeill Wax Museum's Amelia Earhart

Third graders at W. R. McNeill presented the annual Wax Museum on March 2, 2017. Students researched famous people, wrote biographies, scripts, and prepared costumes to present their character for peers, parents, and community members. Building Short Stories at McNeill Building a story with Legos

Using a box of Legos, pencil and paper, students in Ms. Hamilton's third grade class at W. R. McNeill worked with Mr. Jesse from the Warren County Public Library to develop a short story. Young writers assembled Legos a few at a time to create a setting, then a list of adjectives and finally wrote a short story to share with peers. Click here to view photos from the activity.

1-Hour Delay: January 6, 2017

Bowling Green City Schools will operate on a 1-hour delay on Friday, January 6, 2017.

Kentucky's Great Statesman: Living History at McNeill George McGee portrays Henry Clay at McNeill Elementary.

A Kentuckian whose political genius made him one of the greatest statesmen of the 19th century lived again Wednesday at McNeill Elementary. The Kentucky Chautauqua presented George McGee in an interactive and compelling living history portrayal of Henry Clay (1777–1852) to fourth and fifth grade students.

BGHS and McNeill Choir Performances on TWC Purple and red ornaments

BGHS and McNeill choirs performed holiday carols at the Warren County Courthouse in mid December. Performances will be broadcast several times on Time Warner Cable channel 3 beginning Monday, December 19 through Christmas Day.
