Potter Gray Elementary School, established in 1959, has provided educational opportunities to generations of students in Bowling Green City Schools. Approximately 400 students are enrolled in Kindergarten through Fifth Grades. Staff and families are committed to providing a caring, productive, learning environment in which all children can develop their abilities and talents to the maximum. The mission of Potter Gray is for all students to achieve excellence as productive, responsible citizens.

BGISD Increases Hourly Rate for School Day Bus Drivers

Beginning in August 2021, the Bowling Green Independent School District will pay full-time bus drivers up to $25 per hour for school day routes, a minimum of four hours per school day. Superintendent Fields recommended the rate change to help recruit and retain the best drivers to safely transport students to and from school each day. The Board of Education voted to increase the rate on Monday, June 14, 2021.

Summer Meals Available Weekdays Through July 30, 2021

Bowling Green Independent Schools will offer three options to provide meals for students throughout the summer. Beginning May 25, 2021, through July 30, 2021, Monday-Friday there will be both mobile deliveries and open sites offering meals for kids. Weekly meal boxes, including three meals for seven days, will be available to families on Thursday of each week at Bowling Green Junior High between 10 a.m. and 12 p.m.

All children 18 years old or younger are eligible to receive meals. Children do not have to be present to receive meals.
