Mayor Bruce Wilkerson spoke to the fifth grade classes on Friday, February 3 about city government. He explained that while he and five city commissioners are elected to decide policy and regulations, Bowling Green has a city manager form of goverment. A city manager runs the daily operations of the city. The students learned about the city's four largest departments and how much a new fire truck costs among other interesting facts. Students were well prepared with a host of questions about what he likes about the job and how he got interested in becoming mayor. Check out the photo gallery for pictures.
