Kindergarten & Preschool Pre-Registration Scheduled

Families of students entering preschool or kindergarten in the fall of 2018 may pre-register April 16-20, at their home or preferred elementary school. Kindergarten students must be five years old by August 1, 2018, and preschool students must be four years old and meet income guidelines or three or four years old with developmental delays or disabilities.

The Itty Bitty Purples will soon be under the same roof at T. C. Cherry Elementary School. Beginning in August 2018, all three and four-year-old students will attend morning or afternoon sessions, with transportation provided by Bowling Green City Schools.

February Ambassadors-of-the-Month Recognized February Ambassadors

Congratulations to the PBC Ambassadors-of-the-Month who are leaders in their classes.  One person per homeroom or special class was chosen for being exemplary.  Bravo to Daire, Kylin, Symone, Masemo, Dorcas, Genesis, Dues, Fiath, Brayden, Natalia, Michael L., Ami, Jackelyn, Hantter, Keenan, Chase, Destiny, and Richard!  They will be treated to a pizza party to celebrate their achievement.

PBC Celebrates Read Across America Day WKU Football players for RAA

PBC celebrated Read Across America Day with multiple reading events and contests.  Guest readers from WKU Football, United Way, and U.S, Bank read Dr. Seuss stories to the students.  We even enjoyed some green eggs and ham courtesy of our cafeteria!  Check the photo gallery for more pictures and celebrate at your house by reading together any and every day.

Black History Month Concludes With Student Program Black history program 2-28-18

To conclude Black History Month, fourteen students presented a program representing African Americans who inspired them.  TreMauri McCathren was President Barack Obama.  Ja'Michael McCathren was George Washington Carver.  Dardah Adnan was Rosa Parks.  Julian Wright was Dr. Neil DeGrasse Tyson.  Three students, Amina Hasanova, JaMiyah Carothers, and Amilli Owens portrayed NASA mathematicians Mary Jackson, Dorthy Vaughn, and Katherine Johnson.  Jamelle Green was King Mansa Musa.  Kingston Marks, Tylan Taylor, JaMarri Anderson, Jalen Franklin, Chris Ware, and George Kibawa were Colonel Young, George Jordan, Henry Johnson, Dennis Bell, John Henry, and Henry Flipper respectively of the Buffalo Soldiers.  They did a wonderful job with their performances.

New Kentucky Immunization Requirements for 2018-2019 New Immunization Requirement for 2018-2019

An amendment to the Kentucky Administrative Regulation added new immunization requirements beginning with the 2018-2019 school year. Effective July 1, 2018, ALL students in kindergarten through 12th grade must show proof of having received two doses of Hepatitis A vaccine and students 16 or older must show proof of having received two doses of Meningococcal ACWY (MenACWY) to attend school.
