Celebrating National School Lunch Week: October 15 - 19

Bowling Green City Schools will recognize National School Lunch Week and the theme, “Lots 2 Love,” which is intended to encourage students and school nutrition professionals across the country to share what they love most about school lunch programs.

Technology Questionnaire Open This Week BrightBytes Logo

Bowling Green Independent Schools are partnering with BrightBytes, an educational research organization, to learn more about our students’ school and home technology use for learning. This week, the district will ask students (grades 3-12), teachers, administrators, parents & guardians to take part in the Technology & Learning questionnaire. Participation is essential to help form a more complete picture of technology use for learning. All responses will remain anonymous.

September is Attendance Awareness Month

September is School Attendance Awareness Month, and in BGISD, it is an opportunity to remind parents and students of the district's attendance policy. A student is allowed 5 days excused with parent notes and 7 days with doctor notes per school year.  After 7 doctor notes have been used, the district medical excuse form must be submitted for excused absences and/or tardies.  Parent and doctor notes must be turned in to the school within 72 hours of the student’s absence. This attendance policy is new for the 2018-19 school year and implemented in an effort to reduce chronic absenteeism, defined as missing more than 10% of the school year for any reason.
