Forensics Team Places 1st in Small Team Division of Ky Educational Speech and Drama State Tournament

Five members of the BGJHS Forensics Team won 1st place in the small team division and 6th place among all schools competing in the Kentucky Educational Speech and Drama Association State Tournament. Individual awards were earned by:

  • Kate Woodring, 7th Grade- 1st place Prose, 2nd place Public Speaking, 2nd place Broadcasting, 4th place Storytelling. Kate walso won 2nd in the Trithon Overall Speaker Award.
  • Truman Tinius, 8th Grade- 1st place Interpretation of Literature, 2nd place Duo Improv, 3rd place Prose, 6th place Declamation, and 3rd place in Trithon Overall Speaker Award.
  • Maddie Woodrum- 8th Grade- 1st place Broadcasting, 2nd place Declamation, Winner of the Annual KESDA Essay Contest, and 4th place in Trithon Overall Speaker Award.
  • Trent Slocum- 6th Grade- 2nd Place in Duo Improv, Semifinalist in Duet Acting
  • Landen Johnson- 7th Grade-  Semifinalist in Duet Acting.
