New for the Class of 2020: A College Cohort Pilot Program

Bowling Green High School will pilot a new college transition program in 2019-20, intended to prepare students for the post-secondary environment. Next year, sixty to eighty seniors will enroll in four 85-minute courses, taught by BGHS teachers and meet twice per week at the school. All courses are eligible for college credit, either through Dual Credit, Advanced Placement or CLEP Exam. The schedule will also include built-in time for counseling, college visits, job shadowing, internships, as well as ACT prep, college writing support, and more. Learn more here.

BGHS Selects Kyle McGraw as Principal

The Bowling Green High Principal Selection Committee voted Thursday afternoon, April 18, to select Kyle McGraw as their new principal.

McGraw has been an Assistant Principal of Bowling Green High for two years, working most closely with juniors and seniors. Previously, he has served as a special education teacher and assistant football coach in Hardin County Schools, a social studies teacher and assistant football coach in both Boone County and Bowling Green City Schools, as well as serving as Head Teacher of the Children’s Crisis Unit in Bowling Green from 2015-2017.

BGHS Students Visit M&L Electrical with Junior Achievement Job Shadow Program

Thirty students from Bowling Green High School visited M&L Electrical for a day of job shadowing on Friday, April 19, 2019. The day was made possible through a partnership with Junior Achievement of South Central Kentucky, M&L Electrical and Bowling Green High School. It is one initiative to support local students finding high-wage career opportunities after high school.

BGHS Graduation 2019 Ticket Info & Request Form

The Bowling Green High School Class of 2019 Commencement Ceremony will be held Sunday, May 26th, at 2:00 p.m. Tickets are required for all guests attending the ceremony due to safety concerns and to create a more comfortable environment to celebrate graduates.

Hall of Honor Applications Online: Homecoming Celebration Planned

Since 1992, Bowling Green High School has inducted 234 honorees to the school’s Hall of Honor. The annual tradition continues in 2019 with a day-long celebration in conjunction with BGHS Homecoming on Friday, October 18, 2019.

BGHS and BGJHS Principal Selection Timelines Set

The Bowling Green High School and Bowling Green Junior High School SBDM Councils and Superintendent Gary Fields have tentatively set a timeline to hire principals for both schools in early May 2019. Former BGHS Principal William King was named Director of Technology in February, and BGJHS Principal Cynthia West will retire at the end of the school year.
